Lucky Boxes

Participatory Installation

March 2016

Lucky Boxes is a set of acrylic boxes in different sizes and colors; there is a 4 - inch diameter hole on the topside of each one. Participants are encouraged to put their hands into each or any of the boxes to touch or grab whatever is inside. This piece triggers a highly personal psychological and physical experience: the psychological battle of whether or not to take this risk; the experience of having an expectation; the action of taking risks, exploring the unseen and unknown. The sense of tactile is also a major part of this art experience, to make art using different senses is also one of my intentions for art making. The audience also becomes the “performers” of the work by being recorded by a camera
